ELECTION OF BOROUGH COUNCILLORS TO THE

STAPLEFORD SOUTH EAST WARD

THURSDAY, 2 MAY 2019

NOTICE OF COUNTERMANDING OF POLL

1. The election of Borough councillors to the Stapleford South East Ward is hereby countermanded by virtue of the provision of Rule 55 of The Local Elections (Principal Areas) (England and Wales) Rules 2006. The Returning Officer is satisfied as to the death of a candidate in the above-mentioned election.

2. The Returning Officer will order a new election to be held for this electoral area, the date being no more than 35 days (excluding, Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays) from the date originally fixed as the Election Day hereby countermanded.

3. No fresh nomination is necessary in the case of a person shown in the Statement of Persons Nominated as standing nominated.

4. Notice of the new election to be held will be published not later than the twenty-fifth day before the date of the election (excluding, Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays).
