Build is the brainchild of Stephanie and Haydn from SWA Design, based on Nottingham Road, Stapleford. Having experienced many networking events across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire over the years, they felt that many networking groups were quite restrictive on areas such as how a person networks with others, who can attend certain networking groups or even what a person has to contribute to stay a permanent member of a networking group. They felt that there was a real need for a more relaxed and open style of networking group. With this in mind, Build was created with the purpose of providing an open networking space, in the local area with the freedom for like-minded business professionals to network in their own way and in their own time.

Their launch networking event took place on 25th June 2019 at the PinnPoint Offices, 31 Nottingham Road with the Mayor of Stapleford Town, Councillor Ray Darby and the Mayor of the Borough of Broxtowe, Councillor Mick Brown in attendance. The event began with everyone being welcomed by Stephanie and the Mayors being invited to officially launch the networking with a ribbon cutting ceremony (see picture above).

There were many attendees at the event, some of whom included Siobhan from The Nottingham Massage Company, Claire Lyons from The Frugal Family and Teresa Griffin from TG Accountants. They even had businesses attend from as far as Leicester.

The networking event was a great success, with conversations flowing and connections being made both at the event and after, through the use of Build’s Facebook and Linked-in groups.

The Mayors of Stapleford Town and the Borough of Broxtowe made a small speech, in which they echoed the feelings of those who attended the event, in that they felt that Build could really help aid in the efforts to ‘build’ the local business community and wished Stephanie and Haydn all the success with their new networking venture.

Stephanie and Haydn are extremely proud to have achieved such a successful launch of their very own networking group and look forward to welcoming even more local businesses to their future events, which will take place every fortnight.
