J Longdon declared an interest in any discussion relating item 10 of the agenda, ‘Nottinghamshire County Council decision to abolish Broxtowe Borough Council’ by dint of his status as a serving Councillor on Nottingham County Council.

40/2019 Neighbourhood Planning
A Presentation was given by Ken Mafham
Ken stated that the plan was ready to go to formal consultation to all statutory bodies subject to amending a line to the document.

40/2019 Neighbourhood Planning contd…..
Ken went through the progress report that was circulated. The timetable and Field Farm changes and the proposal to advertise the Designated Local Greenspaces were agreed. Members decided they would like to add in the site at Cemetery Road and that they would like to meet again when they have had more time to read the comments of Steffan Saunders and Ken’s reply. Ken agreed to send an updated progress report and make the amendments that need to be made to the Neighbourhood Plan to add in the Cemetery Road site .
It was noted there was no response from Broxtowe Borough Council within the two-week deadline given at the last meeting.
The Stapleford Town Council agreed to hold another meeting to look at the Neighbourhood Plan and consider more fully the comments of Steffan Saunders. It was also agreed we amend the text to add in a housing site at Cemetery Road.
41/2019 Mayor’s Engagements
The Town Mayor reported that he had judged the Garden Competition around the town. He said there were some beautiful gardens and it was a difficult decision to judge the best ones.
42/2019 Section 137 Request
The committee were asked to note that there were no applications for funding under section 137 at this time.
43/2019 Allotments Report (Dig In)
Councillor Grindell reported on the Dig In Annual Report March 2017 to February 2018.
44/2019 Meet Your Councillor
Cllr M Hull explained the meeting was attended by 2 people, but the event had not been put on the Stapleford Town Council Web Site due to an oversight. A further meeting will be advertised on the website and notice boards be accessible for all.

45/2019 Traffic and Highways Issues in Stapleford – Update by Steering group.
A report was presented by Councillor D Pearson. The members were asked to note the report.
After discussion Councillor A Hull proposed that the Clerk write on behalf of the Town Council requesting that the following issues were looked into:-
- Extension of Double yellow lines on Pinfold Lane
- A pollution/air quality test be carried out on Derby Road between The Roach traffic lights and Halls Road/Brookhill Street, particularly at rush hour times.
- That every effort be made to secure a replacement children’s crossing warden at St. John’s school
- congestion problems in the vicinity of St. John’s school on Nottingham Road. parking of some parents dropping off/picking up children from the school; and secondly the car transporter from Sandicliffe unloading vehicles on this area of road.
- Continued problems regarding parking problems near to car sales showroom on Pasture Road.
This was seconded by Councillor D Grindell
Councillor J McGrath requested that Nottingham County Council Councillors were invited to ‘walk through‘ Stapleford Town and see all the problems with traffic issues.
Councillor R McCrae read out his report which was considered by the members
A request was made by Councillor A Hull that a different day could be considered to hold the meetings on other day than on a Friday.
The Town Clerk reported that a reply had been received from Aldi regarding the Pinfold Lane site.
The Town Clerk to write to Nottingham County Council Councillors and Kay Cutts regarding the traffic concerns and invite Nottingham County Council Councillors to ‘walk through‘ Stapleford Town.
46/2019 GDPR (Genera l Data Protection Regulations) update – verbal Town Clerk
The Town Clerk advised that Tim Horsley from Broxtowe Borough Council was coming on 8 August at 10.00am to talk to the members re GDPR.

Thanks were made to the Town Clerk from Councillor R Macrae for her quick actions and quick responses regarding correspondence.
47/2019 Nottinghamshire County Council decision to abolish Broxtowe Borough Council.
Councillor J Longdon left the room
A discussion was held and Councillor D Pearson stated he had been warning the members about this over the last 10 years that this was going to come. There seems to be no indication as to the future role, if any, of the Town & Parish Councils. The Town Council would be grateful for some clarification regarding this and would be would like to know from Kay Cutts as to what is envisaged as to the future of Town and Parish Councils.
Councillor Pearson said we must keep positive for the residents of Stapleford.
It was proposed by Councillor D Pearson and seconded by Councillor A Hull that the Town Clerk writes to Kay Cutts
Councillor Macrae wanted Stapleford Town Council to be consulted on any proposals to reorganise local government in Nottinghamshire.

Members were asked to note the payment schedule.
Councillor Pearson reported that the payment schedule from May had an error on it, which was the responsibility of the former Town Clerk.

Councillor A Hull gave a personal big thank you to the new Town Clerk for all her hard work
This was seconded by Councillor D Grindell who said she was polite and forward looking.
51/2019 Date of next meeting.
The next meeting was arranged to take place on Friday, 7 September 2018, commencing at 7.00 pm. at the Carnegie Centre. Please note it was agreed to change the meeting time from the previous time of 7.30pm.
Members were also asked to note that the Garden Competition winner’s presentation will take place before the meeting at 6.00 for 6.15.
Town Clerk to inform the entrants of the garden competition about the presentation.
